A new season: winterfall
Readers who don’t live in the Northeast may not understand, but boy, the last week has been extraordinary. Snow started falling thick and fast on Saturday afternoon, October 29. A blizzard–before Halloween! Not normal. Limbs full of fall foliage snapped, taking power lines with them. A gazillion people lost power. Ours was out for three days, and our heat and hot water went with them. Long chilly hours followed..and nights below freezing. I slept in a hat. We’re back on the grid now, but many people we know are still without power, and they are really having a tough time of it.
And yet, forgive me for saying…it was so beautiful.
