Make a sewn rope basket
I recently shot a series of workshops for Creativebug – they came out to me this time and we had a couple of very hot days in my studio, sweating and crafting, and filming 3 kid workshops and one sewing project that is going live tomorrow. This one:
It is a simple project with a ton of creative variations, if you choose to do it your own way. Just think of all of the things you could put in a pretty like that! It is akin to knitting in the round, or throwing a pot on a wheel – meditative (like that sort of knitting) and sculptural (like the pots). I just really love making these and I think you all would too! You just need to make sure you have a nice even zig zag stitch on your machine and you are ready to go.
And, if you have kids (or even if you don’t, since all of my kid workshops are things I love to do too), then check out my first Creativebug Summer Camp workshop on making Shrinky Dink Jewelry:
Now that school is about to end and you might be realizing that you need a few tricks up your sleeve, let Creativebug offer you a wee hand. I promise you won’t be disappointed!
